Guiding Question: How did we first learn to speak a language?
Learning Objectives: TSW (the student will) read, write and listen in the target language

Today in class we read a spanish magazine for ten minutes. After we read the magazines we watched an update on the trapped miners in Chile. Then, we took an assesment by writing in spanish for ten minutes.Students wrote on a topic of their choice. After doing the assesment, we graded ourselves using a rubric and we had other students grade us as well. Sean is awesome because he wrote this! Then we listened to La Bamba and completed a CLOZE activity using the vocab.

Guiding Question: How did you first learn a language?
Learning Objective: TSW (the student will) use the IB speaking rubric to evaluate the blabberize projects.

We had some technical difficulties today unfortunately and it took a while to get this rolling because the blabberize website was running very slowly.  After a little frustration and many attempts to problem solve, we discovered that the delay was caused by the search engine on Blabberize and we just copy/pasted directly from Sra. Rivera's email inbox.  This activity helped us further understand the rubric.  After this activity we also self-assessed our own achievement when listening to Spanish.

Note: the peer evaluations have no impact on the grade Sra. Rivera gives us, it is just an attempt to reach into some of the higher levels of Blooms and to see the projects that we worked so hard on.

Bring headphones Friday!

Tarea: comment on this blog answering the following questions...
1. What is your feedback on the blabberize assessment?
2. What did you like about this project?
3. What changes should I make to make this activity better for you?

Bienvenidos!

Bienvenidos!

Welcome to our new class blog!  It is my hope that this tool will help everyone--parents and students--stay connected and informed of what we cover each day in class.  I will be doing the first few blogs, but eventually the class will be updating the blog with what we did each day in class.  This should help with illness, extra-curricular activities, etc that might cause you to miss class.  It can also be just a nice review in case you forgot over the green day what we did in class.  We will try to include the guiding question, learning objective, and any homework (tarea).

On the side under archived posts you will see that each post is listed by date.  This way you can look specifically at what we did in a certain class.

Thanks and feel free to comment with any feedback of how this tool could be more helpful to you!
